Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is a residential program at Nydum, on the Costa Brava, Spain. Registered with Yoga Alliance and rooted in Ashtanga Vinyasa, the course brings together daily practice, functional anatomy, alignment, philosophy, teaching methodology and hands-on teaching experience. The focus is to give you a deep understanding of the practice and the tools to share it with others
Designed for dedicated practitioners and future teachers, the course gives you a strong foundation without separating theory from what actually happens on the mat. You’ll study the Ashtanga Primary Series, biomechanics, anatomy, sequencing, pranayama and meditation, then apply what you learn through observation, adjustments and teaching practice. The aim is simple: to understand what you are teaching, why you are teaching it and how to adapt it to the person in front of you.

HOW MUCH YOGA EXPERIENCE DO I NEED TO JOIN THE 200 HOUR TRAINING?
We recommend having an established yoga practice before joining. You don’t need to be able to perform advanced postures, but the training is intensive, so having enough experience to feel comfortable with regular practice will help you get much more from the course. Every application is assessed individually.DO I NEED TO WANT TO BECOME A YOGA TEACHER?
No. You can join the training to become a teacher or simply to develop a stronger understanding of your own practice. Teaching methodology is part of the course, but teaching professionally afterwards is entirely your choice.WILL I BE ABLE TO TEACH VINYASA AFTER THE TRAINING?
Yes. Although Ashtanga is an important foundation of the training, teaching methodology also covers Vinyasa, including sequencing, general asana alignment, pranayama and meditation. For your final teaching assessment, you can choose to teach Ashtanga or Vinyasa.WILL I BE ABLE TO TEACH ASHTANGA AFTER THE TRAINING?
Yes. You’ll study the Ashtanga Primary Series throughout the course and learn how to teach a shortened Primary Series class, including its main postures and sections, together with pranayama and meditation.ARE THERE ASSESSMENTS AT THE END OF THE COURSE?
Yes. The 200 Hour training includes a practical teaching assessment as well as anatomy, alignment and philosophy work. Students are assessed individually, taking their progress, effort and participation throughout the training into account.DO I NEED TO COMPLETE ANY READING BEFORE THE COURSE?
There is no compulsory distance-learning module for the 200 Hour training, as the required hours are covered during the course. Nydum does recommend Ashtanga Yoga by Gregor Maehle as useful preparation before arriving.CAN I JOIN WITHOUT STAYING AT NYDUM?
Yes. If you live locally, Nydum can consider a non-residential place. Meals are still included, as sharing meals and spending the training day together is considered an important part of the group experience.IS NYDUM REGISTERED WITH YOGA ALLIANCE?
